Bezon Shawnee Families,
Makaki megwich to everyone who made last year a success! We are extremely excited to announce that the 2019 camp registration is now open. Within this site from the buttons below, you will find multiple registration forms and lists. We need each camper to have their own seperate registration forms. Please be sure to fill out a form for each adult and child participating.
All registration forms must be submitted no later than July 1st. Any registration forms received after this date may result in those campers not being able to participate in some activities. Please understand that this is due to the need to know how much material is needed and financially how much is needed monetarily for spending for each event, activity, etc. Please make a note of all lists and send any items that you are able to donate to Zane Shawnee Caverns (in care of Youth Camp) before July 16, 2019.
Wapacoli are youth ages 12-17 years of age, Sequoy Nawbe are youth ages 8-11 years of age, and Chippers are youth ages 5-7 years of age. Please use campers ages as to the start of camp to determine placement of the youth.
Start Dates for each Group:
Wapacoli and Sequoy Nawbe Camp Begins Sunday, July 21st With Registration Starting at 12:00pm to 1:30pm
Chippers Youth Camp Begins on Wednesday, July 24th with Registration Starting at 12:00pm to 1:30pm
Important Note: Chippers will not be permitted to arrive early to camp this year unless accompanied by an adult Guardian or Parent that is volunteering at camp. This gives our Counselors and Instructors time to focus on preparing for your children on Wednesday and to be able to help prep events for the program.
During youth camp, all youth will be required to sleep in their proper areas unless they fall ill. In this case, their youth counselor will take the appropriate chain of action. Also, all campers are required to shower and use the restroom in the camp shower house only.
As this is our third year back, we are anticipating a much smoother week. If you intend to be an instructor, counselor, kitchen staffer, or volunteer, please contact Little Wolf or Kulestasah at the numbers provided below before July 1st. You will be notified no later than July 8th as to what dates and times you are expected to be at camp.
A quick health evaluation will be performed before your child can participate in camp. Please also be aware that this camp is held primrily outside. Small bugs, such as ticks and chigger do live outdoors and it is quite possible to pick them up simply by walking through grass, brush, and trees.
This camp is designed to help teach our children about our heritage. There are some lessons and activities that can cause physical injuries. A couple example would be making and using weapons and the game of Double Ball. Pleae be aware that we will have a medic on staff that can take care of most injuries.
The buttons below are links to the forms and needs of our camp. The two forms that need to be filled out for your child to attend Youth Camp are the Youth Registration Form and the Youth Electronics Use Policy. If you are participating as an adult, Please fill out the Adult Participant Medical Info Form.
Thank you all in advance for everything you do to help make this year's youth camp possible. We're looking forward to seeing you all at camp!
